Frederick & his wife in the lobby at VibraLife in Mechanicsburg

Frederick Brooks

Experiencing shortness of breath, Frederick Brooks arrived at the emergency room at UPMC Harrisburg. Frederick was admitted and experienced a complicated hospitalization, including pneumonia, newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation (AFib), and deconditioning related to his extended stay.

Planning for Frederick’s discharge from UPMC, his wife began to research options for rehabilitation in the central Pennsylvania region. One of those options was VibraLife, located in Mechanicsburg. She toured the facility and immediately felt that her husband would be safe and cared for at VibraLife. They decided to admit Frederick to VibraLife for physical and occupational therapy.

Upon completing his rehab stay at VibraLife, Frederick found his wife’s first impression verified. He attributes his progress in rehabilitation to the engaging and encouraging therapy team and his family’s involvement in his care plan.

“VibraLife’s culture lends itself to recovery,” stated Mrs. Brooks.

Ten days after admitting to VibraLife, Frederick returned home with his wife. He looks forward to enjoying working in his yard and relaxing days spent on his porch.
