Patrick Kodwin
When Patrick Kodwin began experiencing worsening abdominal pain, he knew something wasn’t right. After two days of discomfort, he went to the emergency room at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, where doctors diagnosed him with a small bowel obstruction. He was admitted for surgery, but several medical challenges—including low blood pressure, an irregular heart rhythm, and physical deconditioning—complicated his recovery.
As Patrick’s hospital stay came to an end, his care team recommended skilled nursing and rehabilitation to help him regain his strength before returning home. After visiting VibraLife, Patrick’s family felt confident it was the right place for his continued recovery.
At VibraLife, Patrick approached recovery with focus and determination. Working closely with his physical and occupational therapists, he participated in a personalized treatment plan designed to rebuild his strength and confidence. He credits his progress to the therapy team’s professionalism and the way they tailored his sessions to reflect his home environment, helping him prepare for a safe and successful return home.
In just two weeks, Patrick made tremendous progress. He regained strength and returned home to his family. Patrick defines success as “finding happiness in whatever he is doing”—and for him, that means finishing his book and playing music again!
Patrick, your determination and positive attitude have been truly inspiring. It has been an honor to be part of your recovery journey, and we wish you continued health and happiness as you move forward!
